Disabled people should be put down

There is a history of ‘modest proposals’ designed to drive the logic of popular thinking towards abhorrent conclusions. (See Jonathan Swift’s A Modest Proposal for Preventing the Children of Poor People From Being a Burden to Their Parents or Country, and for Making Them Beneficial to the Publick. Swift’s proposal was to sell them to the rich as food.) Archbishop Cranmer, one of the UK’s most popular bloggers, has a similar argument here about disabled people in which he highlights the absurd double standards of public moral norms.
