In the last 20 years, from the time the first planet was found outside the solar system, we have discovered thousands more ‘earths’ in our Milky Way galaxy. (Not to mention the hundreds of billions of other galaxies.) This article tells some of the story. The implications for theology of habitable (inhabited?) planets are interesting. Are we so egocentric that we think God might not have created life elsewhere in the universe? Or is there a theological problem with that thought?
