As I’ve said before (to try and avoid the inevitable cries of ‘homophobia’ and ‘hate speech’) we have gay friends who are caring, loving, doting mothers. But one case does not make an argument and the debate over children’s welfare in straight and gay parent families needs to be based on research that is as unbiased as possible. This article and its links highlights the difficulties of doing such research. The bigger issue is the confirmation bias that we all have when faced with evidence about issues that matter deeply to us; we tend to see the evidence that backs our own point of view. Jesus said, ‘I am the truth’, and Christians of all people should follow the truth wherever it leads.
